I’ve got to say I can’t believe it’s 2018 already!!! Long gone are the days where a day felt like a week, I sure do miss being a child in that respect lol.
Looking back 2017 was a great year for me in so many ways because I like to focus on the positives and celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments. otherwise I find life can just drag you down if you allow it to. That’s not to say I never had any challenges, in fact I had many, too many to list. My mother has been unwell for some time and it has been so heart-breaking seeing her get so emotional on a daily basis, especially as I can literally count on one hand the amount of times I have ever seen my mother cry. She has always been my rock and biggest supporter so you can imagine the challenges I have had to endure.
One of the highlights of 2017 had to be my Maya Angelou and Oprah Winfrey greeting cards from by Art by YL range selling out at literally every event I exhibited at. I love taking part in events where possible, meeting my customers face to face and just getting a feel of what buyers like or don’t like. This helps me to keep improving my range and producing products that continuously inspire women as that is the whole ethos behind my Art by YL brand. Thank you again to everyone who purchased my products last year and helped support the movement 🙂

I went to Switzerland in the spring to celebrate my gorgeous cousin’s engagement and catch-up with one of my good friends. You can read more about this trip here
Over the summer I managed to squeeze in a lovely long weekend trip to Brighton with a group of friends which included one of my childhood besties. I couldn’t recall the last time I went out to a club open until 8am as most places in London shut at 2am. I’m sure those of you from London can relate 🙂

I read some awesome books which I will discuss in more detail in a later post, met some incredible women and ate without counting calories ( A very hard thing to do in your 30’s lol).
Towards the end of the year a good friend of mine launched her yummy cake business and to say I was excited would be an understatement!!! She has been baking me and some other girlfriends her yummy cakes just for fun for the past couple of years and finally decided to take the plunge and launch Cupcakes and Creams by Mel.
I’m really excited about 2018 as I have so much planned this year. I started the first week of 2018 by hosting a vision board party at my home. It was such an amazing experience and I definitely plan on doing more inspirational events this year. My Art by YL product range will also be expanding to t-shirts and canvas bags (No more plastic bags this year guys!). I have some exciting fashion projects and not to sound cliché lol but I truly do plan on getting into the best shape ever!
What are some of your plans for 2018?
